Reiki works the same with animals as it does with people. It will produce relaxation effects within the animals’ inner energy channels and outer energy field.
The Reiki energy is naturally accepted by the animals, as they are inherently tuned into it. In other words, there is usually no resistance, as you sometimes find with people.
Using Reiki in an animal shelter situation or with highly distressed or injured animals can work wonders, as it is able to be applied safely from a distance – either in the presence of the animal or at another location.
Many animals prefer Reiki in “hands-off” applications. Sometimes it is much easier for the practitioner and more comfortable for them.
