Cynthia Hammond

Her second “greatest teacher” was her mother. Cynthia credits her mother for her deep spirituality and faith. You will find the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi on her wall, a prayer her mother prayed daily and taught Cynthia to base her life on this prayer.

The third “greatest teacher” in Cynthia’s life was her father. An entrepreneur himself, he taught her social skills, business ethics, and most importantly: customer service.

With Divine intervention, Cynthia made a major career change in 1993 leaving corporate America to follow her heart. She continued her studies of energy and became certified in a variety of modalities of energy work over the years. She has received certifications in aromatherapy, reflexology and massage. She has studied and trained with Young Living Essential Oils and is a Reiki Master in the Usui System of Natural Healing. She has studied energy work through Ursuline College under Shelby Hammitt and Sarah Weiss, Color Light work under Julieanne Bein, and chromotherapy under Lynn Younger. Cynthia is currently working on her bachelors degree in Holistic Health Care.

Cynthia opened her first Spa/Wellness Center in 1995. It grew very quickly and in 2006 she sold this business as it had become more of a spa than the Wellness Center she knew she needed to create.

Cynthia regrouped and restructured the concept of the Wellness Center and with Divine timing opened Rising Sun Holistic Choices in 2009. Her direction was to create a place for our community to come to for a variety of holistic services. Rooms are rented per hour to holistic practitioners so that the Center can offer a choice of healing modalities.

Along with other practitioners, Cynthia continues to work on the expansion of the Wellness Center and educating our community on holistic ways.
